Try to eliminate sugar, dairy, grains, caffeine with one cheat meal a week.

I have had a life changing experience due to CrossFit
2014 was my first Open and it completely empowered me. I finished every workout. I did stuff that scares the crap out of me. Afterwards my confidence and commitment grew tremendously. Everyone should do the Open!
