I've been Crossfitting for a year now, lost 35 pounds in the process (and that includes jacking up my knee and then having surgery in this time). I still can't do a damn pull up and only just landed push ups about 3 weeks ago (I can do 6 in a row). I did 3 unbroken double unders yesterday. I can row a sub 2:00 500 meters. I'm a very proud, very happy work in progress. Sweat, pain, bruises, frustration, accomplishments, set backs, fun-- wouldn't change it for the world. Having the TIME of my LIFE!

How I Eat

I am gluten sensitive, I don't eat red meat, caffeine and I don't get along, and I try to stay away from sugar. I've lost 35 pounds and I still have 10 to 15 to go, so I'm counting calories and making sure that they count.

How I Train

I workout mostly at a CrossFit Affiliate

I have a coach who determines my programming

I record my workouts

Diablo Crossfit rocks, Jeremy Jones' programming is insane but effective, and I begrudgingly post things on Beyondthewhiteboard even when it feels like I'm going backwards and couldn't be farther away from whatever the Rx is.

My Athletic Background

I played youth or high school level sports

I played soccer and softball as a kid, I played recreational softball as an adult, and I danced quite a bit in high school too. I've walked 100 miles on city trails for 3 years in a row and I like to hike. Repeated knee injuries have sidelined me so I'm a work in progress. Having done this for a year I'd like to be farther along (patience not being one of my virtues) but I'm a helluva lot stronger, fitter and better than I was when I typed this up a year ago.

My Experience With CrossFit

I began CrossFit with a coach (e.g. at an affiliate)

I have had a life changing experience due to CrossFit

My Work/Rest Schedule

I usually only do 1 workout a day

Not sure how to respond to this. I try to hit DCF 4 times a week for a WOD, but my WODs are scaled while I'm gaining strength and taking care of a knee that has had 5 surgeries. I'm also balancing my desire to be as fit and as strong as I can and to try to do every Crossfit move that I can with the fact that I am a 44 year old woman with some limitations and there are some things that just ain't gonna happen. =)

How long have you been doing CrossFit?

1-2 years
