How I Eat

I eat quality foods but don't measure the amount

I eat healthy and clean. Avoid dairy (except for a little organic cheese once in a while) avoid most grain (except for organic oatmeal. No processed meats. Only eat what my husband hunts. Elk. Lean, grass fed. Only eat Organic.

How I Train

I workout mostly at a CrossFit Affiliate

I workout mostly at home, work, or a traditional gym

I record my workouts

Found Crossfit in June of 2009 after a 2008 surgery, serious MSSA staph infection, 2 repair surgeries and recovery over the course of a year. A friend told me about CrossFit and I drove straight to CrossFit 714, walked in and said "I don't know what this CrossFit thing is...but I need to sign up today" and I did!...I couldn't even do one sit up or anything else That choice changed my life! Due to life events of 2013 I decided not to train to compete. Married in 2014 and I haven't trained CF. Surgery 4 weeks ago will keep me out of the 2016 OPEN. Look forward to doing the OPEN in 2017. Good luck to everyone!

My Athletic Background

I played youth or high school level sports

I played sports in High School but not college. Worked through college and taught aerobics at several clubs (remember when aerobics was really hot?! ) :) Also did a year or so of competitive body 1982-83. it was just a natural part of being in the gym, but I wasn't interested in going where that sport was headed. Opened my own business and over the next 20+ years focused on work and working out enought to stay in shape and run a 5K here and there. At 48 after a successful career and after what happened in the hospital I decided I wanted to focus on something I was passionate about, health and fitness and finding how I could share that with other people to make a difference in thier lives

My Experience With CrossFit

I began CrossFit with a coach (e.g. at an affiliate)

I have completed the CrossFit Level 1 certificate course

I have attended one or more specialty courses

I have had a life changing experience due to CrossFit

I took over a year off from training from the end of 2012 until October 2013....personal stuff and work. The CrossFit community is awesome...full of energetic, supportive, positive, people getting more fit and healthy and helping others do the same...Love it!

My Work/Rest Schedule

I usually only do 1 workout a day

I typically rest 4 or more days per month

2014 and 2015 I didn't train for CF. We have a ranch in WY and we spent a lot of time there...horses, hiking, every outdoor activity! We went on several overnight long horseback trips. Everyone rides except me, I walk my horse...sometimes 9-10 hrs a day... My friends can't believe it...That what Crossfit does for you!!! It changes your life in so many ways!

How long have you been doing CrossFit?

4+ years
