How I Eat

I eat quality foods but don't measure the amount

I stick to "clean" eating 7 days per week with 1 cheat dinner & dessert.

How I Train

I workout mostly at a CrossFit Affiliate

I have a coach who determines my programming

I record my workouts

I do what I am told and don't ask questions.

My Athletic Background

I played youth or high school level sports

I regularly play recreational sports

In high school I played basketball, volleyball, and softball. But my true love was for softball. I was a 3 year varsity starter: position in center field, and lead off hitter. Today I still play softball and sand volleyball for fun. I truly love all sports recreational or competitive.

My Experience With CrossFit

I began CrossFit with a coach (e.g. at an affiliate)

I have had a life changing experience due to CrossFit

Back in April 2009, I broke my collar bone learning how to road race dirt bikes. Being a Licensed Massage Therapist I was unable to work or do anything for about 3 1/2 months. It was horrible to have my freedom taken away. Let's just say my itch to get back to crossfit grew strong. In august 2009, I was back at Crossfit Rockford with my trainer working hard at rehabing my shoulder. It seemed like a long road ahead of me, but i kept my focus forward. Then in December 2009, I found myself signing up for 2010 sectionals. I don't know what I was thinking. But I found that I did surprisingly well. Now I drank the coolaid and there is no going back. It seemed like in a blink of an eye I was in regionals in Colorado clean and jerking 145#, with just hitting my year mark anniversary of breaking my collar bone. It felt good to be back. Sometimes we have to have things taken away to realize what we have. It definitely lit that fire under my rear end that I needed. I am really grateful for my whole experience. Thank you Crossfit Rockford for your support and encouragement. There is not another affiliate quite like ours. I love you Crossfit Rockford.

My Work/Rest Schedule

I usually only do 1 workout a day

I do multiple workouts in a day 1x a week

I strictly schedule my rest days

I typically rest 4 or more days per month

I try to stay on the workout 3 and off 1 schedule. In doing this I really have been trying to listen to my body and be aware of the recovery my body needs on a day by day basis.

How long have you been doing CrossFit?

4+ years

I have been doing Crossfit since October 2006 making me a 5 year crossfitter. Crossfit Rockford is one of the oldest affiliates to have started doing crossfit. I think we are the 18th affliate.....Yahooooooo!!!!!!!
