Recreational athlete with a recent background in endurance sports. One time erstwhile powerlifter, but that was long ago. Lately, 7 time Ironman and have done over 70 marathons including the Mohican 100 Miler. Coached over 200 people to marathon success as part of a non-profit team. Knee injury in 2011 kicked me a bit, but CrossFit has been instrumental in getting me back on track. Professionally, in IT sales.
How I Eat
I eat quality foods but don't measure the amount
Most difficult part for me is nutruition, as I am on the road 3-4 days a week. Working hard to keep a Paleo focus, has it has been key in helping me reach fitness goals.
How I Train
I workout mostly at a CrossFit Affiliate
I add 5 day a week CrossFit to my running program, which is 4-5 days a week.
My Athletic Background
I regularly play recreational sports
My Experience With CrossFit
I began CrossFit with a coach (e.g. at an affiliate)
Signed up for CrossFit to break me out of a self-imposed rut. I have coached runners, and thought I knew how to rehab my broken knee. I was wrong. CrossFit coaches, at least the CFA coaches, are all outstanding and have taught this old dog some new tricks.
My Work/Rest Schedule
I do multiple workouts in a day 3+ times a week
As I mentioned, 5x a week CrossFit, with 4-5x a week running. Makes for a nice combo.
