My Athletic Background

I was an endurance athlete competing in Triathlons with my longest race being the halfiron when I discovered Crossfit. For the last two years I have been unable to dedicate myself to Triathlon Training for hours a day or any racing. However I kept up Crossfit workouts daily, maintaining my fitness.

My Experience With CrossFit

I began CrossFit with a coach (e.g. at an affiliate)

I train other people

My experience with Crossfit has been life changing and I owe it all to my affiliate. The day I called up Crossfit Cedar Park they were warm and welcoming. They listened to my current fitness status and invited me to an introduction session and told me I would have a work out. The day of my workout I vividly remember it as if it was yesterday. They put me thru baseline. I thought I was in pretty good shape, but after that I felt disappointed in my capabilities. . . . I said okay no what do I do, what is next? Their answer was go home. That was your workout and come back tomorrow. . . I was bewildered for bit, but did as I was told. Then it hit me. . . . HELL YEAH!!!! I will take a 10 min workout over a 40 mile bike ride followed by a 3 mile run ANYDAY!!! From that day on I never looked back. And after every workout Dave would ask, When are we going to see you again, you coming in tomorrow? I though to myself, they really want me to come back. . . . Boy did they turn my world around. . . . . Being a Soldier for 21 years I've mainly been in charge of the PT program for my Soldiers. . . Guess what they are doing, without a choice. . LOL and they love it too (most of them, but only after the WOD). I now coach on Camp Mabry, Austin, TX in order to enable others to have that same Ah Ha moment I experienced 3 years ago. . . Thank You Crossfit.

My Work/Rest Schedule

I do multiple workouts in a day 2x a week

I typically rest 4 or more days per month

I'm really not sure what my workout schedule is. . . I was an endurance athlete and we all know that mentalitiy is totally, MORE, MORE, MORE AND THEN SOME MORE. . . . I am trying hard to have a rest day, but I just feel so good (mentally not necessarily physically) after I get a workout in the morning as well as the afternoon. I usually rest on Sat or Sun. I if I start taking days off, I find excuses not to workout. And I need to out train my bad diet. . .

How long have you been doing CrossFit?

2-4 years
