How I Eat
I weigh and measure my food
In addition to dng Crossfit, I am also a fitness competitor so food has a special place in my heart! I love to eat clean, and I always choose whole, unprocessed foods. That being said, a fellow crossfitter told me Mini Eggs have magical muscle building properties, so I'll have to explore that myself..... ;)
How I Train
I workout mostly at a CrossFit Affiliate
I workout mostly at home, work, or a traditional gym
I record my workouts
I split my time between Crossfit Sherwood Park and a regular gym (sometimes due to timing, sometimes due to goals). I really enjoy a change of scenery and love taking my workouts outdoors in the summer. Gotta mix things up to keep it interesting!
My Athletic Background
I played youth or high school level sports
I trained in gymnastics for almost 8 years in my childhood, which actually doesn't give me as much of an edge as I'd like! Haha. I sustained a few injuries that I pushed through/ ignored/ didn't rehab properly that continue to haunt me to this day (stay supple kids!). What I wouldn't give for Mobilitly WOD back in the 90s! I got into Crossfit in my University days and love lifting and the host of unique and challenging movements.
My Experience With CrossFit
I began CrossFit by trying it alone (without a coach)
My husband and I discovered Crossfit together back in 2008 through a Gym Jones video. That was way back when we actually had to explain to people what Crossfit was! It's amazing how much that has changed in only a few short years. The Crossfit community is like nothing I have ever witnessed in any sport and truly what makes it so successful. I'm proud to be involved with such a great group at Crossfit Sherwood Park and look forward to visiting other affiliates all over the world!
My Work/Rest Schedule
This can differ greatly depending on if I have something coming up/ what I have coming up/ scheduling/ etc, but I usually train 5 days a week and it isn't unusual for me to train twice in a day.
How long have you been doing CrossFit?
Started in 2008 but haven't been consistent with it until this past year.
