I have stayed relatively fit my entire life, but now with CrossFit, I feel stronger at age 46 than I ever have been before. I'm a mom, a wife, a former Army soldier, and a current federal employee. I am a recovering workaholic who is pouring my energy into my workouts. I've been CrossFitting for 5 months, and I am super anxious about benchmarking my scores this year. But, I've got to start somewhere, so here it goes....
How I Eat
I eat quality foods but don't measure the amount
I believe in the "everything in moderation" way of eating. As long as I stay active, I don't have a problem with my weight. That being said, I do not bring junk into my house. I just started experimenting with the Paleo diet - I don't believe in diets, but a new business popped up and they deliver fresh, wonderful weekly meals and hey, I've always wanted to pay someone to cook for me.... The verdict is still out on how I feel with Paleo, but so far, so good (if only for the convenience).
How I Train
I workout mostly at a CrossFit Affiliate
I workout 5-6 days a week at CrossFit Covington. I'm new to CrossFit, but I have drunk the Kool-Aid and I am a true believer. I feel stronger than ever, but most importantly, as a military person who is always new to town, CF Cov has given me a wonderful, loving family and support system. I. love. my. Box.!!!
My Athletic Background
I played youth or high school level sports
I was very active growing up - a fierce equestrian competitor (hunter/jumper) and a cheerleader.
My Experience With CrossFit
I began CrossFit with a coach (e.g. at an affiliate)
I have had a life changing experience due to CrossFit
I can say with the utmost sincerity that I am a CrossFit addict. I love how I feel, and I love the support system and family feel of CrossFit.
My Work/Rest Schedule
I do multiple workouts in a day 3+ times a week
I typically rest fewer than 4 days per month
What's rest? A group of us stay after class to do what we like to call, "extra wodwork," a step above homework.
How long have you been doing CrossFit?
Less than 6 months
I've been CrossFitting for 5 months. I have nicknamed myself the "CrossFit MisFit" and like to blog about my adventures on Facebook.
