Athlete: Legare Miller
How I Eat
I eat quality foods but don't measure the amount
I eat 1-3 full cheat meals per week
Paleo-ish. I do have priorities in the meals I prepare. 1)Vegetables 2)Lean Meats and Proteins 3) small- moderate amount of fruit 4) Occasional cereal or snack food which does need to be in check. I avoid fast food and pastas at all costs and pack leftovers following these guidelines as close as possible. However, I will not bring myself to the coconut-based alternatives.
How I Train
I workout mostly at a CrossFit Affiliate
I workout mostly at home, work, or a traditional gym
I record my workouts
My Athletic Background
I played college sports
My extent of past experience prior to CrossFit, was 4 years I participated in the Tae Kwon Do Club at Virginia Tech. I was able to achieve 1st Dan Black belt, then left the club after I left college in 2008. Ever since then, I sought after finding something that gave me that same challenge and intensity as the contact sport. I believe CrossFit and weightlifting have helped me get back to that "happy place" of hard work paying off.
My Experience With CrossFit
I began CrossFit with a coach (e.g. at an affiliate)
I have had a life changing experience due to CrossFit
My Work/Rest Schedule
I do multiple workouts in a day 3+ times a week
I typically rest 4 or more days per month
I do one CrossFit class a day 4x- 5x a week, and may do some extra lightweight accessorie work after, (ie practicing Double Unders) When that many times isn't enough I find other outlets, such as yoga and dance exercises, and stretching to keep me warmed up throughout the week. Occasionally, you may find me in the garage improving form if it is not too cold.
How long have you been doing CrossFit?
I started CrossFit in August 2012.
