Athlete: Tyler McMurchy
How I Eat
I eat quality foods but don't measure the amount
I'm trying to eat well. But I have a weakness for nachos from 7-11.
How I Train
I workout mostly at a CrossFit Affiliate
I record my workouts
I keep track of my workouts at http://sissyhands.blogspot.com
My Athletic Background
I played youth or high school level sports
Average or below average athlete as a kid. Played basketball and soccer in rec leagues. Didn't make the cut for my high school basketball team. Mostly inactive as an adult, but did play ultimate frisbee for 7 years (yet was still pretty bad at it). Before CrossFit, I was the most out-of-shape guy on my ultimate frisbee team. After CrossFit, I was the guy who could run pretty fast but still threw a lot of shitty passes.
My Experience With CrossFit
I began CrossFit with a coach (e.g. at an affiliate)
My big German buddy Harlan pestered me for months until I gave it a try. I put it off for a long time. Too expensive, too much of a time commitment. I now realize that I was an idiot for thinking that. I was immediately hooked.
My Work/Rest Schedule
I typically rest 4 or more days per month
C'mon, I've got two kids, a supportive but non-CrossFitting wife and a job. If I get to the gym four times a week, I consider myself lucky.
How long have you been doing CrossFit?
All this time and still no muscle-up. So I guess Rich Froning can rest easy for another year.
