I'm still relatively new to CrossFit...been doing this for just under a year. I've never been the athletic type, but CrossFit has changed all that. It's impacted my life in so many positive ways. I find myself doing things that I never thought I'd ever be able to do.

How I Eat

I eat strict Paleo

I eat quality foods but don't measure the amount

I try to eat strict Paleo, but I do allow myself some cheats, a little too often. I started by weighing and measuring my food, but after a while, I get the idea of what the proper serving looks like and stay with that. I check myself ever so often though, to make sure my portions don't get out of hand. My biggest weakness is sweets, unfortunately.

How I Train

I workout mostly at a CrossFit Affiliate

I have a coach who determines my programming

I record my workouts

Other than doing some running when I can't get to the Box, I'm 100% at a CrossFit Affiliate. My goal is 3 days a week now due to work and financial restrictions. I'm hoping to soon get to the point where I can go 4-5 days a week again, like I used to.

My Athletic Background

I have no athletic background besides CrossFit

Before moving to the "Frozen Tundra" (aka, Maryland and the DC area) I worked out 5-6 days a week at P3 CrossFit in Houston TX. It was totally life changing and got into the best shape of my life! Due to a big change in my life and some health issues, I find myself starting over after gaining weight. And starting over at 55 years old SUCKS!! But I'm determined!

My Experience With CrossFit

I began CrossFit with a coach (e.g. at an affiliate)

I have had a life changing experience due to CrossFit

My Work/Rest Schedule

I usually only do 1 workout a day

I typically rest 4 or more days per month

I usually only get to the gym once a day. Sometimes I do a run other than that. My regular rest days is Sundays only.

How long have you been doing CrossFit?

6-12 months

I got exposed to CrossFit actually at a 24 Hour Fitness. I signed up for a personal training session and as "luck" would have it, the lead trainer there is a Crossfitter and he put me with a trainer who was also a CrossFit Coach! The workouts he gave me was CrossFit based! Not being able to afford to continue personal sessions, my trainer suggested I check out a CrossFit Gym. The rest, as they say, is history!
