How I Eat

I eat strict Paleo

I have been eating the Paleo way for just on 3 years now and love it. I successfully completed the WHOLE30 program and found that after completion a switch was flicked and my performance had gone to a whole new level, there is no turning back for me now :0) I am more strict Paleo now than I was last year and sometimes, I will be tempted with some dark chocolate but not as much as last year! The WHOLE30 and the Paleo way of eating has changed my life, attitude and training profoundly!!

How I Train

I workout mostly at a CrossFit Affiliate

I have a coach who determines my programming

I record my workouts

I workout mostly at our Box CrossFit Launceston with my sister, my brother has a crossfit box but is in another city, Hobart in the south of the state but sometimes we get together along with my sister and train together and we learn heaps from each other.

My Athletic Background

I played youth or high school level sports

I was also in a running club for around 5 or 6 years and have been weightlifting casually for around 17years.

My Experience With CrossFit

I began CrossFit by trying it alone (without a coach)

I have completed the CrossFit Level 1 certificate course

I have had a life changing experience due to CrossFit

I train other people

I run a Box along with the help of my sister and brother CrossFit Launceston, Tasmania. The first in the North of the state!

My Work/Rest Schedule

I do multiple workouts in a day 3+ times a week

I typically rest 4 or more days per month

I usually workout twice a day 6 days a week and sometimes 3 times a day once every couple of weeks and rest 1 day but if I am sore or run down, I am not afraid to have two days off, even consecutively to recover and repair! I train hard and smart and am constantly listening to my body!!!! I have a goal to compete at the Games for a third consecutive time and I am more than up for the challenge :0) BRING IT ON!!!

How long have you been doing CrossFit?

4+ years

I own a Box CrossFit Launceston in Tasmania, the first one, so the growth has exploded! I love coaching and I train with my sister(Camille Harmon) who is in the same masters category as me now, as she has just turned 52, so we spur each other on. We both have a dream of getting to the games together and then it's every man(so to speak) for himself). My brother(Russell Kapper) and I qualified for the Masters last year 2013, where I finished ranking 12th. I have qualified again this year and aim to better my performance from last year, my goal is finishing in the top 10. My sister accompanied me last year as my coach/motivator and was great.and in 2014 my husband Tony accompanied me as my coach. This year in 2015, the stakes are higher but I love a challenge and I am aiming for my third consecutive appearance in Carson.
