35 yr old, Husband and Father.Thankful that God sent his son Jesus to die on the cross for my sins, and I try to live each day with that in mind, knowing that even when I struggle God wil never forsake me!
How I Eat
I eat quality foods but don't measure the amount
I eat whatever is convenient
Diet really varies. Weighed 289lbs an now down to 226lbs. Try to eat decent. Try to stay away from fast food and softdrinks. Eating more often at home instead of going out to eat, so that means sandwiches and what ever my wife cooks!
How I Train
I workout mostly at home, work, or a traditional gym
I incorporate CrossFit.com workouts
I record my workouts
I started at CrossFit Embrace in Dothan, AL in August of 2011. Great place with Great coaches and Great community. I wasn't able to keep going, but I still CrossFit at home in my garage gym as well as our local Highschool Gym, with a group of friends. We have had diffrent people do our programming, but we are currently following the CrossFit Verve (Denver, Colorado) programming. I also do some of the workouts from CrossFit.com as well as CrossFit Embrace.
My Athletic Background
I played youth or high school level sports
Always played sports growing up and in High School. Then intermural sports in college. After that just the recreational sport every now and again. Was really into golf about 2yrs ago.
My Experience With CrossFit
I began CrossFit with a coach (e.g. at an affiliate)
I have had a life changing experience due to CrossFit
My brother got me started in CrossFit at CrossFit Embrace in Dothan, AL. I started in August of 2011 and have been addicted ever since. I entered my first competition in Albany, GA (The South Georgia Throwdown) just 3 months afer I started. Entered in the scaled division and finished 21 out of 23! Hey it's better than last! The competition is addictive! It has changed my life, as far as the weight I have been able to lose while attempting to diet and incorporating CrossFit as my workout schedule.
My Work/Rest Schedule
I do multiple workouts in a day 3+ times a week
I typically rest 4 or more days per month
I started only doing 1 workout a day with a lot of extra cardio (rowing!!) . Now that I am working out of my own garage I am able to do more than 1 workout a day. I can do 1 WOD and then work on a weakness. I am currently doing 1 WOD as well as a lot of running each day to build up my endurance.
How long have you been doing CrossFit?
Started in August of 2011 - NOW!
