I enjoy helping and encouraging people find their potential. In my life, I am always striving to be “Better than Yesterday” and I encourage others to do the same. In a society where upwards towards 90% of people sit all day at work, teaching people how to move properly is one of the best gifts a doctor can give. I appreciate working with people who may be overcoming an old injury and finding ways to teach them how to move differently and more effectively to avoid future injuries. For these reasons, I choose to be a Strength and Conditioning and CrossFit Coach. I have the ability to instill functional movements into the young and old alike. I was born and raised in Barnesville, Minnesota. I pursued a pre-medicine undergraduate degree at Concordia College, Moorhead, MN and majored in Biology and Exercise Physiology. I went on to graduate with honors from Palmer College of Chiropractic West and Suma Cume Laude from Logan University with a Master’s Degree in Sports Science and Rehabilitation. Since then, I have become a Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician (CCSP®), Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), obtained my International Chiropractic Sports Science Diploma (ICSSD), and Level 1 CrossFit trainer Certification. I have always been a very active person and I love playing almost all sports. I grew up playing Volleyball, Basketball, Track, and Softball at my high school. You can only play four sports at a small school. I was also privileged enough to play Volleyball and Basketball, and run Track at Concordia College. My parents allowed me to pursue any sport that I wanted and I did just that. I was fortunate enough to grow up on a lake so swimming, water skiing, tubing, and wake boarding came easily to me. I also enjoy snow skiing and snowboarding. I am relatively fearless when it comes to snowboarding and that came back to bite me in 2007 when I broke my low back and ruptured a disc in a snowboarding crash. I laid on the slope for about 35 minutes unable to feel or move my legs and promised myself that I would never take another day in life for granted. I must admit that I was nervous when I started CrossFit in December of 2012. It was a sport that intimidated me, but I decided to give it a try anyway. I wanted to have a reason for my fitness and this seemed like the perfect lifestyle for me. After playing collegiate sports, I spent years competing in triathlon but wanted a different goal for my fitness, so CrossFit it was! One week into CrossFit I was hooked and going at 6:00AM 4-5 days a week. Fast forward a year and I had my Level 1 Certificate, a year and a half, I qualified for Regionals. I strive to inspire others the way I was inspired. I am a Sports Chiropractor by profession and spent some time as a Strength and Conditioning Coach at Colorado before moving to Seattle and finally Moorhead, Minnesota. Although I love being a Chiropractor, I would prefer to help people move better while getting injured less, focusing on performance care.
