ATHLETE INFORMATION

How I Eat

I always thought I could eat whatever I wanted because I've always been thin. CrossFit helped me realize the importance of good nutrition. I'm probably about 60% Primal. My best friend is a nutrition guru and a constant inspiration (thanks, Karen).

How I Train

I workout mostly at a CrossFit Affiliate

I have a coach who determines my programming

I record my workouts

Some of my favorite things in CrossFit are sandbag get-ups, rope climbs, GHD sit-ups, burpee pull-ups, sprinting--basically all of the stuff you'll never see in the Open. I'm a data junkie and am fastidious about logging my workouts.

My Athletic Background

I played youth or high school level sports

I played college sports

Cross country and track; my high school records in the 1500m and 1600m relay have stood for over 30 years.

My Experience With CrossFit

I began CrossFit with a coach (e.g. at an affiliate)

I have completed the CrossFit Level 1 certificate course

Started out at CrossFit Fort Vancouver in Vancouver, Washington. Moved to Boise, Idaho in the summer of 2011. I often volunteer at local fitness competitions and co-organize the Boise Fitness League, which features spring/fall seasons of intermural-style team fitness competitions. I completed the CrossFit Level 2 certificate course, as well as the Endurance and Mobility courses, and do a little bit of coaching when I can fit it in. I'm a big fan of Gym Jones and Mountain Athlete style programming.

My Work/Rest Schedule

I usually only do 1 workout a day

I typically rest 4 or more days per month
