Hi! My name's Melissa Roland, I'm a mom of 2 beautiful kids, and have really loved getting more seriously into Crossfit the past year and a half. I have no other sports background but finally found something I do enjoy :) My other hobbies are music, crocheting, and hiking. I also love Italy and can still parlo a bit.
How I Eat
I eat quality foods but don't measure the amount
I love to cook, and over the past couple years I've learned to cook more healthy. Although I don't do a strict paleo diet, I do avoid wheat and dairy - other grains do hit the table about 1-3 times a week.
How I Train
I workout mostly at a CrossFit Affiliate
I have a coach who determines my programming
I record my workouts
I got a great boost in my abilities by doing programming by my coach - am just now heading back into crossfit classes with some goals under my belt now.
My Athletic Background
I have no athletic background besides CrossFit
The only other sport I've done is a couple seasons of indoor soccer - and I did enjoy it! But discovering Crossfit was the best life-change for me - it gives me something I enjoy, get serious about, and want to compete in.
My Experience With CrossFit
I began CrossFit by trying it alone (without a coach)
My husband had been doing crossfit alone and talked me into giving it a try. After about a year or so of testing the waters, I joined a crossfit gym. And I've never looked back!
