Running times are from many years go, to be honest. Current times at age 51 cannot touch my age 30 self. But at age 30, the idea of deadlifting 415 or squatting 365 would have been unimaginable.
How I Eat
Paleo plus cheese and grass fed butter. And, I haven't quite gotten rid of my love of a nice adult beverage.
How I Train
I workout mostly at a CrossFit Affiliate
Besides CF, I ski, ride my road bike in the summer, snowshoe in the winter, and I add in some rowing, hiking and running as the mood suits me. I also spend a lot of time wading in streams, stalking trout with my fly rod.
My Athletic Background
I regularly play recreational sports
I spent 25 years before CrossFit as a distance runner, racing distances from 800 meters to 100+ miles. I spent a few years (before the boom) as a triathlete. I started lifting to supplement my running in 2007, and in 2012, I finally became an ex-runner and a CF athlete.
My Experience With CrossFit
I began CrossFit with a coach (e.g. at an affiliate)
I have had a life changing experience due to CrossFit
My Work/Rest Schedule
I usually only do 1 workout a day
I typically rest fewer than 4 days per month
At age 51, I try to train 6 days per week, but I only do CF 4-5 days per week - 4 most weeks. My weekend workouts are slower fun activities, like hiking, riding bikes, or slow fun runs with my wife.
