How I Eat
I weigh and measure my food
I follow WeightWatchers 360 program and focus on whole foods. I try to avoid most processed foods but will indulge sometimes.
How I Train
I workout mostly at a CrossFit Affiliate
I record my workouts
I go to my affiliate, CrossFit Diesel, 4 times a week and horseback ride 2 times a week (3 in the warmer seasons) with 1 day of rest (aka productivity at home). I record all of my crossfit workouts in my blog: www.crossfitgamesorbust.wordpress.com along with weekly weigh ins/ weight watcher meeting reflections/struggles. I take time to make monthly goals and meet with my Coach to continue to push myself and find ways to keep Crossfit a life long activity and not just a fling.
My Athletic Background
I don't have much of an athletic background. I have been horseback riding for about 26 years and played a little bit of Ultimate frisbee at the end of college and a few years after. I participated in other workout genres and even dabbled in rock climbing for a while. Crossfit, while new in my life, was love at first sight.
My Experience With CrossFit
I began CrossFit with a coach (e.g. at an affiliate)
I have had a life changing experience due to CrossFit
I kept wanting to try Crossfit but was worried about the financial commitment and the long contract deals all of the affiliates had. Only until November 2012 did my opportunity to try crossfit for a month for a very low price via LivingSocial come across my emails and I jumped at it! After my first WOD I was hooked but used the month to make sure the gym was a good fit for me - and it was/is! Finally I feel as if I am performing how my body wants to work and I love how I never get bored or lose motivation to keep pushing to be better. Crossfit has encouraged me to eat healthier, too, and has helped me reach my goal weight with WeightWatchers and to look amazing at my wedding this spring in Aruba.
