I started CrossFit on my very first deployment back in 2006. I did it on and off for a few years but I didn't get consistent with it until I was diagnosed with Gestational Diabetes while pregnant in 2011. I followed the CrossFit mom site on my own at the post gym and worked out daily up until the day before my daughter was born. It was the best thing I could have done for myself and my daughter as labor and recovery was a breeze. I found IFA when my daughter was 3 months old. I needed a gym that was close by where I could take my daughter while I worked out (a luxury not afforded at the post gym). Lucky for me Nate Schrader, Rory Hanlin, Jordan Finlayson and Rob Filebark are my coaches and I couldn't have received more quality programming. It is the first only only legitimate CrossFit gym I've been so and I've been so blessed. I continue to compete at local competitions and since my 7th place finish in the scaled division at Integrity's Revenge in 2012 I continue to see my placings increase. I most recently finished 3rd in the Rx women's division at the Carolina Fitness Challenge (I even got my first muscle up on the final workout). I also met my fiance Jordan Finlayson at IFA. I love him with all my heart and we will be getting married right after the Open and a month before regionals. I can't wait!
